Our Mission
The main work of the Johnson County Farmers Market is to help strengthen a sustainable local agricultural and food economy.  We do this by providing education, engaging in community and economic development, and promoting the availability and benefits of local food and agriculture.

JCFM accepts SNAP food stamps.  This is made possible through a Farmers Market Promotion Program (FMPP).  For the 2010 season we will be doubling dollars for our food stamp customers.  Your $1 in food stamps will be worth $2 at the JCFM. Double dollars is made possible for the JCFM by a grant from Wholesome Wave Foundation through Appalachian Sustainable Development. Interested in getting the freshest farm product selection?  We encourage you to show up at the opening of the market to pick the ripest produce.

For more information about fruit, vegetable, & plant selection at the market call Tamara McNaughton at (423) 895-9980.  If you'd like to sign up as a farmers market vendor, check out the Vendor Information page for our Rules & Regulations and Application.  You can bring your completed application with you on the first day you want to sell.  We also have applications available at the market.

Come strengthen the local agricultural and food economy with us!
